World Peace Day

                   Peace of Silence

Peace is very equivocal as a word, its definition varies with the quantum of time and place. Generally, the time of peace is when there is no actual war, like with blazing guns and missiles, etc. If that's not happening, it's peace. Well other than being ill-defined, it is also the most fragile word as it is dangling on the thinnest string of silence. Yes, silence, which is often treated as peace, is even more fragile as it can be broken merely by saying 'Silence'. We should be happy and relieved that at least there is no World War 3 (yet).

Although various Nations have their issues with one another, that's not a real war, as it is being fought using diplomatic guns, Restriction, and Ban Bombs, and other such weapons of Mass Disturbance, though the causalities are real, losses are more physical but silent, so it's Peaceful.

The People, called the General Public, of any Nation, metaphorically hold their breath whenever the wind blows and the 'thread' starts dangling. The fear is existent, silence is colossal,  pawns are being sacrificed, yet People with Influence, are coming up with a narrative to cause more destruction of conscience, which by the way has become naturally deficit, still, peace prevails.

We should be grateful to those who ended those wars and the era of fear of bomb drops, missile hits, and sirens running underground for safety. Yes, many lives have been lost in establishing this peace and many still are being lost. We need to be more respectful to them.

My Country is Bharat (India). Here, the peace has to be maintained in between Religious Groups, Ethnic Groups, Casts, and Communities in addition to its two very disturbing Neighbors. But peace prevails, at the expense of one of the Communities. In India specifically, One particular community has to lose a lot of its ethnic heritage to maintain peace, but that's for some other time, for now, there is Silence.  The two ill-mannered Neighbors keep provoking time and again, yet it's Peaceful.

Right now, we as the citizens of the world, know very well that it's Silence, not Peace. And something so fragile can be disrupted any moment, still, we live on, dream on, and enjoy the life that's where real peace exists. That's the peace we should celebrate, encourage and globalize. The peace which enables one to learn and respect others, the peace that is not malafide by poisons of differentiation and discrimination. A peace that empowers one to speak and to be heard without prejudice, but an adamant peace is a myth.

And so is this year's theme"Shaping Peace Together". I am grateful to all but hopeful to none. Respect all who worked and are working for it, but believing is difficult. Because we the people of the world have cherished things like our racial supremacy, religious supremacy, etc, and are not willing to be together, yet we don't say it, we are silent about it. You might disagree, but that's fine, you are entitled to your opinions and experiences and so am I.

Just a quick query, "the world we live in, is it Peaceful or Silent ?"
